Currently, our family farms around 2,000 acres of owned, shared, and rented land that is in a corn and soybean row crop rotation using minimum tillage or a no-till program to manage the lands conservation stewardship. We believe there are five key principals that have allowed our family farm to prosper and be successful for nearly 112 years.
Passion – We are very passionate about agriculture, farming, and feeding the growing world as efficiently as we possibly can. Through transparent communication among all parties involved in our operation we believe that we can meet the demanding needs that our industry is going to be faced with as we are required to become more efficient with less arable land available to produce crops.
Integrity – Doing what is right, regardless of the situation, and treating everyone with respect is something powerful we believe in and apply to our farming practice daily. In every relationship we develop, from landlords, to applicators, to sales personnel, we value treating each person with the respect and integrity we ourselves would want to be treated with if the shoe was on the other foot.
Hard Work – Being a family farm is not just a spring and fall job. It is a physically and emotionally demanding occupation, but one that we love and wouldn’t trade for the world. There are long days and nights, and only through the passion spoken about above, and hard work are we able to tighten the belt and give everything we have to do what is needed to accomplish the job!
Innovation – Each year we strive to push the envelope forward, and continue to try new and more effective ways to grow our crops. Without innovative ideas continuing to push the agriculture industry, the demands in the future won’t be met. We look to be at the forefront of these innovative ideas and help our industry drive forward to feed the growing population around the world!
Family – Like it says, we are a FAMILY FARM, and without the tremendous support we receive from our families and our team we wouldn’t be nearly as successful in what we do. What makes farming special is the outstanding people we come in contact with on a daily basis, and the close-knit relationships we are able to develop along the way. We truly value the importance of having a strong group of people to work with throughout the growing season and beyond.
